President's Message | Summer 2020

With the surfacing of COVID-19, along with civil unrests and protests owed to racial inequalities, injustices, and police brutality, the Village has taken the very necessary responses, actions, and preventative measures to help ensure the safety of residents, employees, and the community. We will always have your best interests and well-being in mind in everything that we do.

Fortunately, as a Village, we have had lower numbers of positive cases for COVID-19. This is in direct effect of you adhering to our warnings, updates, and recommendations of staying home, practicing social distancing, and being conscious of your surroundings. As the pandemic is under constant monitoring, we want you to continue being cautious and mindful of not just your health, but others as well. Only together will we be clear of COVID-19.

I also want to make sure to take a moment to congratulate all graduating classes of 2020. This school year has ended in a way that we never could have imagined, and we are ALL proud of you for your continued quest for completion and success. The future will be bright for you, and we look forward to seeing you all excel at any and everything you do.

For the past several months, we have been emphasizing the importance of participating in Census 2020. EVERYONE in Richton Park counts. Whether you’re a homeowner or renter, your inclusion matters. So far, the Village has reached a response rate of nearly 65%. We’re on the right track, but we are aiming for a full 100% participation so Richton Park receives all the funding we deserve over the next decade. We’re talking critical dollars for healthcare, infrastructure, educational programs, outreach programs, jobs, Village services, senior services, and more. Completing the census is easy, safe, and quick. Please, if you haven’t done so already, go to today, and be counted!

As always, we are actively working to shape our own future as one of the Southland’s premier communities while continuing to engage citizens, and to create and sustain good governance, vision, and consistency.

Along with the Board of Trustees, our Administrative staff and all the employees of the Village, we look forward to seeing you through good times as well as tough times, and continuing to serve you to the best of our abilities.

Thanks for making Richton Park You Home.
