Dear Richton Park and area families,
We would like to provide you with an important update. After working closely with Richton Park, Park Forest, Matteson, and Olympia Fields Police Departments, as well as the Cook County Sheriff's Department, and following their thorough investigation into the various social media threats impacting multiple school districts in our area, we have determined that there is no immediate threat to our schools. As a result, school will be in session tomorrow as scheduled.
Please remind our children and young adults that making threats is an extremely serious action with significant consequences. Everyone needs to understand the ramifications of such behavior, and we ask for citizen partnership in discussing and emphasizing this with our children.
