At approximately 3:43pm on Thursday, November 14, 2024, Richton Park Police responded to a call of shots being fired in the 22400 block of Ridgeway. Upon arrival, officers determined that one juvenile victim had been shot near the vicinity of his residence. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later discharged. Richton Park Police, along with surrounding Law Enforcement agencies, conducted a preliminary investigation. As a result, one juvenile suspect was identified and detained for further investigation. This incident remains under investigation by the Richton Park Police Department. This is an isolated matter to which there is no active threat to the Richton Park community.
